Helira Energy Private Limited is a brand + technology company for residential rooftop solar in Bengaluru. Helira-certified installers carry out the physical work; the warranty and accountability stay with Helira. As install volume and headcount grow, the finance function needs to hold audit-grade discipline from day one rather than catching up to it later.
Why this role exists
Helira expects to raise a seed round and has applied to state startup schemes, both of which require clean, audit-ready books and diligence-ready documentation. This is the first dedicated accounts hire, joining in September and reporting to the founder, working alongside a retained external accounting advisor rather than replacing their sign-off.
What you will do
- Maintain day-to-day books to audit-ready standard: bookkeeping, reconciliations and monthly closes.
- Handle GST filing and compliance, and process payroll for the team.
- Process vendor payments and maintain accurate records of payables and receivables.
- Prepare supporting documentation for investor diligence as Helira works toward a seed round.
- Prepare documentation for state startup-scheme applications and related government filings.
- Work alongside Helira's retained external accounting advisor, handling the day-to-day so their time goes to judgement calls and sign-off.
- Keep financial records organised and accessible for founder review at any time.
Essential requirements
- 2–5 years in accounts, bookkeeping or finance operations, ideally including GST and payroll.
- Comfortable working to audit-grade standards without a large finance team around you.
- Proficiency with standard accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Attention to detail and comfort with government and compliance paperwork.
- Bengaluru-based.
Preferred
- Experience supporting an investor diligence process or fundraising round.
- Experience with startup-scheme or government-grant documentation.
- Experience working alongside a chartered accountant or external advisory firm.
